3D scanning
It's used in construction and building to create accurate digital models of structures and/or to gain a better understanding of existing ones.
We use laser Lidars to measure distances and create detailed 3D point clouds, but also for photogrammetry which uses images with the aim of reconstructing 3D models in the form of point clouds or meshes.
This enables us to obtain 3D models made up of billions of points which allow us to make measurements of reality directly from the virtual cloud. We're using it in particular for the rehabilitation of historic Parisian buildings, which gives a very precise vision of the building's existing condition (including deformed slabs, beams, etc.).
