The project, based in Villeurbanne, France, mobilizes Equans Digital 's expertise in industrial maintenance, digital solutions and IT & Telecom infrastructures, in partnership with Bouygues Energies & Services - Industrial Maintenance.
The objective is clear: to implement predictive maintenance capable of anticipating malfunctions in critical equipment such as pumps and engines, in order to guarantee production continuity, reduce unplanned shutdowns and optimize industrial performance.
Thanks to this innovative approach, Safran Landing Systems is taking a decisive step towards more reliable, sustainable and competitive production.

In the aerospace industry, the reliability of production systems is an absolute imperative. At Safran Landing Systems, any unplanned downtime can have a major impact on performance, safety and competitiveness. The challenge is therefore to move from a reactive approach to a proactive one, capable of preventing malfunctions before they disrupt the industrial chain. Two priority objectives guide this project:

To meet this challenge, Safran Landing Systems relies on predictive analysis of equipment data. By transforming vibrations into reliable indicators, we can trigger alerts before breakdowns occur, optimize maintenance and guarantee ever safer, more efficient production.
An IoT and data solution for Industry 4.0
To meet the challenges of industrial reliability and performance, Equans Digital has designed a comprehensive solution based on Industry 4.0 technologies. The aim: to transform equipment data into predictive indicators to anticipate breakdowns and guarantee production continuity.
This solution is based on three key components.
Firstly, intelligent instrumentation, with the installation of 40 IoT (Internet Of Things) sensors on production systems. These sensors analyze the vibrations of mechanical parts and establish a precise vibration profile, enabling anomalies to be detected before they become critical.
Secondly, secure connectivity thanks to the deployment of an outdoor LoRaWAN gateway. This infrastructure ensures reliable, periodic data transmission to a SaaS platform, while guaranteeing the security of exchanges.
Finally, data processing via a digital platform dedicated to Industrie 4.0. This interface provides real-time information, enables thresholds to be set, and triggers predictive alerts. Teams can plan maintenance interventions, reduce unscheduled downtime and optimize costs.

Project progress: a rigorous methodology for successful implementation
To guarantee the reliability and performance of the solution, the project was structured around a clear methodology, punctuated by key milestones. Each phase was designed to ensure optimal integration of IoT and data technologies into Safran Landing Systems' industrial environment.
The first stage, design and contractualization, involved technical studies and project scoping. This phase defined the IoT architecture, LoRaWAN coverage and data analytics requirements.
Next, the installation and integration phase marked the deployment of the 40 IoT sensors and the LoRaWAN outdoor gateway, ensuring that the equipment was in place on critical systems.
The third stage, connection and parameterization, involved integrating data into the SaaS (Software as a Service) platform and configuring alert thresholds. This phase prepared the system for predictive monitoring.
The testing and validation phase was then devoted to performance testing and calibration of detection algorithms, with the aim of confirming the reliability of indicators and alerts.
Finally, commissioning marked the start of operations, accompanied by team training to ensure optimum use of the solution.
Thanks to this structured approach, Safran Landing Systems benefits from a robust, integrated solution that is ready to transform industrial maintenance into a genuine performance driver.
