How does digital technology enhance hospital continuity and performance?
May 19-21, 2026
A central challenge: guaranteeing continuity of care in critical environments
From May 19 to 21, Equans Digital took part in Santexpo 2026 in Paris, alongside Equans France and Bâtiments Infrastructures & Services (BIS) teams, with a clear objective: to demonstrate how digital infrastructures and data are becoming direct levers for continuity of care and hospital performance.
In an environment where everything is critical (patient flows, operating theatres, medical equipment, energy) healthcare facilities have no right to make mistakes. The exchanges thus converged on a central question:
how to guarantee secure, fluid and sustainable hospital operations, 24/7?
Digital infrastructures at the heart of continuity of care
Beyond medical services, hospital performance also relies on invisible but essential systems: infrastructures, networks, data and steering tools.
On the stand, our expertise structured discussions with hospital decision-makers:
- Cybersecurity OT/IT : securing increasingly connected critical systems to guarantee uninterrupted care, while controlling risks and compliance
- Sovereign Cloud with OPCP (On-Prem Cloud Platform) : ensure total control of healthcare data, reconciling sovereignty, security, availability and performance as close as possible to facilities
- Data & convergence OT/IT : connecting building data to business systems to pilot in real time patient flows, energy and operations, improve efficiency and working conditions for caregivers
The common thread: transforming complex environments into controllable, reliable and results-oriented systems.
From smart hospital to 24/7 performance: committed speeches
These issues were also brought to the stage through two highlights:
- Mélanie Dubus spoke to the Smart Buildings Alliance to share an integrated vision of the smart hospital, at the intersection of smart building, cybersecurity, interoperability and sovereignty
- A round table dedicated to continuity of 24/7 care brought together experts and players from the healthcare sector around a key observation: when an operating room depends on a poorly managed infrastructure, energy and data become care issues
Three structuring levers emerged:
- Defining the right KPI to drive continuity and performance
- Deploy the right infrastructure and energy mix
- Pilot in real time by data to guarantee uncompromised operation
Towards a more reliable, more sober and more human hospital
At Santexpo 2026, one conviction became clear: the transformation of healthcare facilities cannot be achieved without a global approach, where infrastructures, systems and data are fully integrated.
This is the approach that Equans Digital is taking alongside Equans France:
building hospitals capable of ensuring continuity of care, optimising their performance and sustainably improving the experience of caregivers and patients alike.
