Equans AuidoVisual Technologies was commissioned to supply and integrate the latest audiovisual technologies in outdoor public spaces, including the urban screen, associated sound system and event infrastructure.
The Springvale Community Hub is the latest multi-purpose community facility in Melbourne's Greater Dandenong. This state-of-the-art venue includes a public library, community halls, learning spaces, casual care facilities, exhibition space, conference rooms and extensive landscaped public spaces.
The urban screen needed to be visible in daylight on a northern facade, and capable of displaying text, graphics and video. The aim is to generate community engagement, consultation and education, while encouraging social interaction and activation of public spaces.
Equans AV Technologies worked closely with Dandenong City Council to create the Springvale Urban Screen: an outdoor LED screen and sound system - the latest addition to their already impressive commitment to creating vibrant, animated community spaces.
The screen joins other existing and planned municipally-owned screens and facilities on the municipality's 40 Gb/s fiber optic ring that runs throughout the territory. It enables real-time exchange of video and audio data between spaces, a necessity with COVID 19 restrictions that allow a venue to act as an overflow location at any time. It also enables content sharing between venues, broadcasting content from Council facilities to public spaces.
