Background to the 37,000 m² high-tech hospital project in the Principality of Monaco
The Principality of Monaco has launched the construction of a new state-of-the-art hospital, extending over 37,000 m² in the first phase (82,000 m² in total). This large-scale, top-of-the-range hospital project is being built on an extremely constrained site, on the edge of a cliff, which accentuates the complexity of the works. It is characterized by particularly high architectural and technical standards.
Equans Digital Twin was mobilized to support this exceptional project during the design and construction phases, in collaboration with in-house teams from INEO PACA (low-voltage) and Eiffage Énergie Systèmes (high-voltage).
Major challenges facing the Princess Grace Hospital of Monaco and customer expectations
The CHPG faces several major challenges:
- Managing the complexity of a construction site on a constrained site, requiring meticulous organization and rigorous management.
- Meet the stringent architectural and technical requirements of a very large, high-end hospital facility.
- Ensure optimum coordination between the high and low voltage work packages.
- Manage multiple interfaces with other trades.
Equans Digital Twin: BIM modeling, coordination between high and low voltage work packages
In this context, Equans Digital plays a key role in providing advanced digital solutions:
- Detailed modeling of networks, supports, reservations and equipment based on the DCE mock-up, technical specifications, minutes and documents supplied by the lot holders.
- Representation of tens of thousands ofCFO & CFA equipment, with integration of complete mock-up data sets on 16 building levels.
- Technical support for customer teams to take account of the comprehensive BIM process set up by the Owner
- Production of execution plans and detail books, essential for the proper execution of the work.
- Integration of modifications made during construction , to produce a true-to-life "as-built" model that facilitates future maintenance.
