Ensure the sustainability of a new building by implementing automation measures.
As part of a project to ensure the longevity of the Cité Desjardins de la coopération institutional building, a Desjardins Sécurité financière project in Lévis, Equans and its subsidiary Contrôles AC have designed and installed a building automation system (BAS).
This emblematic building (15 floors housing 15,000 employees) is intended to be an exemplary living environment, promoting collaboration and the well-being of its occupants. Strongly anchored in its environment thanks to its inclusive urban design, the project redefines best practice standards for sustainable development and administrative space planning in Quebec.
The project includes strict sustainability requirements and associated certification (LEED Gold). To meet these criteria, Equans implemented a series of automation measures. The results in terms of sustainable development are numerous: as an example, we can control the brightness of each room according to natural light, we can manage and optimize lighting, the operation of mechanical rooms, energy consumption, etc.
- Expertise mobilized for this automation project includes
- Configuration, installation and integration of HVAC controllers (automation expertise): 1,400 Reliable Controls controllers for mechanical rooms and parts
- BACnet integration: Trane chiller, McQuay chiller, several ABB and Armstrong drives, Mitsubishi air conditioners, DALI lighting
- Modbus integration: electrical meters
