We know that palletizing automation and optimization are becoming increasingly crucial needs. While the data are complex to measure, it is estimated that on average 30% of goods are empty. And in the case of restocking, often of small-volume packaging, or delivery to private customers, this can reach 80% of the useful volume of trucks. The Equans Digital teams have developed a robotic solution incorporating an algorithmic brick to replace manual palletizing.
In a first step, the algorithm launches a calculation based on business rules: orientable parcels, weight, fragility, pallet dimensions, maximum height, etc ... A palletization plan emerges from this and is transmitted to the robotic system, which will build the pallet and take up the challenge of "tetrising" the parcels!
These rules are parameterized according to the needs of each manufacturer. Through its interfaces, the algorithm feeds either customer data (ERP), or real-time information from sensors (measurement, weighing, dimensional scan, label reader, ...) to generate palletization plans on demand.
